Hi folks!

After long delays, I finally got some time to upload many new models of the Star Trek universe. From the feared Borg Cube to the new and improved Enterprise-D, you'll find the stuff for your Trekkie tastes. The models are, as always, in 3DS Max v9 format and require no special plugin to run.

Hi folks!

Probably every 3D hobbyist Trekkie's dream is to get their work landed in the Ships of the Line calendar. I know that I'm not in the same league as the pros who do most of the SOTL images, but I would like my work to be tried in this great challenge. The problem is, I have no idea how to contact Doug Drexler. Not being in the illustration business and leaving an ocean away makes finding a contact a bit difficult. So if any of you know how I can contact Mr. Drexler, please help me. It is highly possible that my stuff will be refused outright, but still, at least I would like a chance. This is what all underdogs want, right?

So, if you folks know how to contact Mr. Drexler, please share it with me.

Thank you!

BTW, does anybody know how to buy Cryptic Points from PayPal?

OK, I bought some points... from now on, I am commanding the classic Connie USS Unyielding.

OC-m: Uriah Noah kapitány

Tíz dolog róla:
- Egyike azon ritka kapitányoknak, akiket megszólított a hajójuk
- A Tzenkethi Birodalom tiszteletbeli alattvalója
- Önfeláldozásának emlékét több emlékmű őrzi, többekközött Franzstadt kolónián és Leningrádban
- Első küldetése előtt valami öreg magyar admirálistól kapott pár jó tanácsot
- A hajóra lépésének első napjától fogva tudta, hogy a Polarisszal együtt fog elpusztulni - és elfogadta
- Flotta-szinten elismert a képviselőfánkja

Azz kérdései:

1. Mi volt életed legcikibb cselekedete?
Amikor valami magyar kapitány elárulta, hogy tudok fánkot sütni.

A taktikai tisztem megoldja. Adj neki, Cat!

3. Hogyan fékeznél meg egy vadlovat?
Fézereket kábító fokozatra. Vagy valaki enne egy kis lógyulait? Az a magyar ürge emlegette mindig...

4. Van tériszonyod?
Teljes taktikai kiképzés után? *elvigyorodik, fejét csóválja*

6. Még élsz?
Kilences fokozattal belerohantam egy Borg kockába. Szerinted?

7. Utolsó kívánságod?
"Vigyázz rájuk, Cat!"

8. Merre van a kovács?
Az adatokat az operatív tisztem dolgozza fel.

9. Ki vagy te?
Ember vagyok. Tiszt vagyok. És amikor minden véget ér... én ott leszek.

10. Mondj búcsút!
Lányomnak, Isabelnek üzenem: vigyázz magadra, csillagom.

Kérdéseim:
1. Mondj valami jót magadról.
Feláldoztam magam, hogy megmentsem az emberiséget. Ez jónak számít, nem?

2. Ne hazudj... Most akkor mondj valami rosszat is.

3. Kedvenc fegyvered?
A gépésztisztem agya. Veszélyesebb bármilyen fézernél vagy torpedónál.

5. Vetkőzős pókerben melyik ruhadarabot hagynád magadon az utolsó pillanatig?
A kapitányi rangjelzésemet. Sokmindenre lehet ám használni...

Tudod, a mániákus küldetéstudat...

***Általános jelzés minden hajónak, itt a flottakapitány. Friss üzenet Leningrádból: a kommunikáció ezen a ponton lezárul***

I'm a nerd, and I like being one. I follow many fandoms, and I have never heard of some you people out there know lots about. What I like, that I truly like, with my good old Asperger fine-tuning. Whzen it comes into hard core fanboyship, there are four things I can fit into this category, two items ot literature, two of TV: Northern Lights and Harry Potter, Knight Rider and Star Trek.

Dear Readers, did it ever happen to you that you love your fandom so much you refuse to accept parts of it as canon? When you're so into it that you see that parts of it just don't fit in? And after much inner debate, you decide to trim them from your personal canon?

Well, it happened to me.

Northern Lights and Knight Rider have no such shortcomings for me. I find Northern Lights to be an example of perfection, and the bloopers of Knight Rider never threatened my suspension of disbelief. But Harry Potter and Star Trek...

Let us examine Star Trek first, because that's the thing you'd probably associate with me nowdays. TOS was perfect in its own sense, and although TNG, DS9 and VOY had their unstable and often incoherent interpretations of TOS and the pre-TOS era (such as the sliding timescale, which works well in comic books but not in sci-fi), they managed fairly well. But here comes ENT. It killed off decades of published materiel on Trek history. It all started with the TNG movie, "First Contact", with Cochrane not flying the ship that was supposed to be the first Warp vessel established in not simply published stuff but in various DS9 episodes (Keiko O'Brien's classes). This was followed by a whole series based upon Picard's time travel and meddling with the past, creating a good series, even a good Trek series, but an unacceptable "early Warp era" history for the Trekverse. Thus, being not simply the Trek geek but the history geek, I sadly cannot accept ENT, putting it into the same alternate reality as JJ-Trek. There, it can happen, and its upgraded tech fits nicely with the Kelvin era vessels. Otherwise... I stay with Masao okazaki's history and many elements of publications such as the Space Flight Chronology. Speaking of such publications: why do most of the novels, charts, blueprints, whatever feel more canon than half of ENT and even TNG? Especially the TNG movies? Yeah, because they are to be canonical, and not what Brannon and Braga screwed up Trek with.

Let us move on to Harry Potter. It was my adolescence and I still love it. I went ape-shit crazy when Order of the Phoenix was published. It was the first whole book I've ever read in English. After that, I couldn't wait for the continuation of the story... and I was disappointed. Many of you probably won't agree, but I think Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows jumped the shark on an unprecedented level. Do any of you remember the "Green Flame Torch" rumour? Rowling said that defeating Voldemort with such an object is impossible. Yeah, so they did it with three, the Deathly Hallows. Pretty inventive, JK. But even before this stupid deus-ex-machina solution, we had Volume Six. Yeah, the one in which Harry becomes an arrogant prick and experiments with the Dark Arts, Hermione becomes a Mary-Sue and Ron levels up on assholedom unseen since Goblet of Fire. We learn about Horcruxes, that murder rips the soul apart, but at the end of Deathly Hallows, even Mrs. Weasley scores a kill of her own. JK, just because you never made her shout "Avada Kedavra", it doesn't mean she went Care Bear on Bellatrix. But no, Harry wasn't supposed to kill, to maime his itty-bitty soul, even if the "victim" would be Volde-mothertruckin'-mort! Wait, he already killed Quirrel when he was, what, 11? So why couldn't he be a man to know the difference between murdering people for the fun of it and assassinating the greatest Dark Wizard ever, and slay the mofo? It would have left us, readers, with countless interpretations on morality and life and death. But no, Rowling made Harry an arrogant little berk who, when the time came, refused to be the real Chosen One and resorted on the friggin' wand's loyalty change (another stupid concept that never came up thorughout the first six books) to make Voldie... well... commit the most idiotic suicide of the century. I just cannot accept that. Or the Epilogue that looks like baddly written fanfiction of a Twilight fan... or maybe Stephanie Meyer herself. Or kind, old Dumbledore becoming a Machiavellian master of puppets whilst his goat-shagger brother being the voice of reason, or even Harry ending up with Ginny "Look at me, I'm sooo no Mary-Sue" Weasley in the end. So for me, HP stopped being canon after the end of OoTP.

Maybe I'm biased, maybe I take things too seriously, but this is how I feel. I like these fandoms, I respect them, but I respect them up to the point that I dare go disrespective against them. That does sound silly, eh? But I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, live long and prosper, follow your Daemon, watch out for Nargles hiding in mistletoes and keep your scanners peeled :D

Ladies and Gentlemen, as you have seen, the rebooted Polaris has been launched with my new little ficlet. Expect something like this for the new Polarisverse: more Trek-ish optimism, Firefly-ish badassdom and political messages, more space exploration and no Sunbombs.

Thank you very much for all of your support. I was shocked by the hard truth you presented me, and I am greatful for it. I never would have imagined that my whacky stories would strike so many people like this. What started out as a wish fulfillment fantasy grew to be someting much more, thanks to you people.

So, to quote Dylan Thomas, "to begin at the beginning":

Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Polaris. Her mission: to explore strange, new worlds. To seek out dangers and wonders. To boldly go and make a stand!

I just finished watching TF3. Finally, a TF movie that doesn't suck and it even included one of the greatest boss fights in movie history. But... near the end, something happened that made me stop the playback and howl with anger.

So the situation is the following: here we have a Quisling of an Autobot, named Sentinel Prime, voiced by our beloved Leonard Nimoy. Yes, he's a Quisling, for after ten minutes of screentime, he betrays the Autobots to do a Dumbledore (read Deathly Hallows if you don't get the reference). No probs with that, the guy (bot) was awesome, Nimoy was awesome, but... he justified his actions because "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few!"

That's right, they took the second-most sacred sentence of Trek (besides "Space, the final frontier") and made the main villain speak it! Spock's dying words, the ones that enabled him to save the Enterprise and his friends! Only because it was Nimoy's role? What was he thinking?

It's like making a movie on Simon Wiesenthal and making him say "Arbeit macht frei" just for the fun of it!

Michael Bay, you spat in the eye of an almost fifty-year old franchize that has a million more times respect than your oversized dolls for boys! You made an awesome movie infuriating for every self-respecting Trekkie out there! Shame on you!

Given that my mind is tired due to the excessive studying for the aforementioned finals, it wondered into even crazier places than usual. I asked myself a few questions a kid won't ask about his favourites but in adulthood, such questions come up in a tired mind:

- How can is happen that Tarzan, alone in the jungle, has no beard?

- How do the Smurfs reproduce? There are about a hundred males and only one female. Is the Smurf society actually a matriarchy, where Smurfette chooses her mate? What is behind her chooseing the mate? Is it age (Papa Smurf), physical strength (Hefty Smurf), mental strength (Brainy Smurf) or simply good looks (Vanity Smurf?)

- Is the Harry Potter universe with magic, wizards and witches actually a drug-induced fantasy of three teenage outcasts? A skinny dork, a not-so-pretty smartass girl and a ginger plebe imagining to be a pre-destined saviour, a popular genius and... something a little more than being a ginger plebe (This is England, anyone?)

- Is Avatar (besides being basically Pocahontas meets Dances with Wolves in space) not actually a subliminal message on the acceptability of treason? The protagonist is a soldier who actually betrays his whole army, nation, race, everything. Is this really a heroic thing?

- Is the Galactic Empire really evil? Let's leave the stupid prequels and look at the real thing: the only evil thing the Empire does in the original SW trilogy is blowing up Alderaan. Otherwise, what we see is a group of criminals, wannabes and scruffy looking nerf herders massacring short-sighted Stormtroopers. Nobody ever said the Empire is a bad thing, just them.

- Speaking of SW, is it only me who think that the whole concept was killed by the whole Force thing? Without these mystic thingies, the whole SW universe would be an awesome military sci-fi. Why couldn't they make Palpatine a capable politician/warlord who schemes his way to the top to create his own world order. Dark Side my ass, it's so silly...

Today, on the 8th of June, I took my final exam at the university. My thesis was on Treason Acts legislated by the Tudor monarchs and the topic I picked was Anglo-Saxon England. In the past few days, I had to learn 48 of these topics, making me study from 8 in the morning up till (and in one occasion, over) midnight. This is why I had not posted anything in the last couple of days.

But now, it is over. Not only did I succeed, I aced the exam, earning a Grade 5, the Hungarian equivalent of an A. After nineteen years, my education is over. These past six years at the university were hard, really hard. I was on the verge of quitting. But I prevailed and I was finally revarded with a glorious victory at the end.

I cannot help, but quote Churchill, when i say I can finally move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. And I can proubly say that this was my finest hour.

Dear Star Trek and 3D fans! As I have promised, I finally released my new batch of models on my upload account :iconmetlesitsfleetyards: .

From Federation to alien, from TOS to TMP era, this new batch includes classic designs every fan knows by heart.

These models may not live up to those of the great 3D modelers, but I made them with all my heart and knowledge. So, have fun flying them and boldly going where no man has gone before...
Not dead just changed his adress. This phrase is a fine example of Hungarian black
humour. Well, here I am again. I hope you folks could find me. This site will host stuff
made with the meshes I alone built - nobody can go against that, could they?

This might mean less variety in my pics, but then again, most of my stuff is TOS, and
guess who builds TOS meshes here? :D

So, I am back, a little older, a little wiser, but full of my love toward Star Trek - both
canonical, non-canonical and fanonical - and the many geekdoms I was, am and will be a
fan.

This is David Metlesits of Hungary, signing in.
