Welcome to the Flat Earth Society

Captain's log, Stardate 5978.26. Ever since our transfer to Starfleet, it wasn't easy for us. Adapting a whole new mindset for a crew of war veterans... well, let's just say it's one of the hardest things I have ever done, and I fought the Kzinti head-on. But there's one thing I always admired about Starfleet people: their open-mindedness. For us in Space Service, pragmatism and down-to-earth thinking is more than a way of life. It's a code which guides you and if you fail to do so, you'll find yourself on the sad end of the food chain. Starfleet, they're different from us. If they hear strange tales about portals opening to another dimension or strange places with staircases in forests that lead to nowhere or anything you can't wrap your mind around, they won't stop till they get to the bottom of it. For the crew of the Polaris, it's not that easy. We can see with our own eyes and our sensors that there is a flat planet, hurtling through the cosmos with enough speed to simulate gravity, lit and warmed by its miniature sun... and yet, it's hard for us, hard for me to believe it. Is it a natural phenomenon that cannot be explained by our known disciplines of science? Is it an artificial construct? Is it a mass hallucination brought about by whatever strange forces that call this region of space home? I guess we're about to find out the truth soon...



Okay, guys, before you ask, I'm NOT a Flat Earther. I just wanted to do something weird, and hey, why couldn't a flat planet exist in science fiction?
