"Channel open, Sir".
"Attention all hands, this is the Captain", Harryhausen said, standing up from the command chair. "In the past couple of centuries, we've begun to measure space in great distances. We've spoken about light-years and parsecs and astronomical units. Things so big they've taken away the scope of what is out there. Well, out there is a satellite, a Federation beacon marking the edge of our territory. No ships have sailed beyond that point. In a mere few hundred metres, right after we cross that beacon, we're arriving in the undiscovered country. A place where no Human has gone before. Not parsecs. Not light-years or astronomical units. Just a few hundred metres. Ladies and gentlemen, this is where our journey begins. And although this is just the beginning, allow me to express how greatful I am to be on this ship, serving with you."



Okay, guys, I wanted a simple TOS-era satellite. A bit of NOMAD, a bit of real world satellites, simple and free of overt greebling, good old Matt Jeffries/Wah Chang kind of thing. I hope you like it
