The asteroid Wilhelmina by thefirstfleet The asteroid Wilhelmina by thefirstfleet
The Polaris arrives at the asteroid of Wilhelmina, the home of the famous Walled City of Wilhelmina's Hope. Considered a slum by many, and a place of self-sustaining freedom by others, it's definitely a thorn in the side of Section 31's schemes. Targeted by a dreadnought under Section 31's command, the Polaris must defend the colony against an enemy that is even more cunning than the Kzinti!

Models by me
Also, Star Trek Continues stole my idea of a terraformed asteroid, so I'm stealing it back :D

Too bad I don't have any of my own finished designs from that era. The Polaris shouldn't be going up against a Federation class all alone, even if she can handle herself, nor should Wilhelmina only be protected by a single Light Cruiser!

Never a Destroyer around when you need one!

Nice Job again, don't fancy the Polaris taking on Section 31 dreadnought though...

She held the dreadnought off for enough time for the dreadnought's first officer, the Vulcan Sitek, took action and declared his Captain unfit for duty, taking over, saving both ships and the colony.

Section 31...

To me, it sometimes seems there are at least two organizations claiming that name...
One with sometimes questionable methods, the other downright evil.

Well, for them, the end justify the means. And if this means killing thousands to save pontential millions, they will do it.

I know. That is a highly questionable course of action. You might want to call it evil.
Especially if they put some extra pressure on others, like Starfleet brass, to obtain their goals.
And rely on the ruthlessness that some people develop if they are under pressure.

But on the other hand, there seem to be some forces in there that send Starfleet personnel into such a mission.
But without that extra pressure and without that strict regimen on how to solve the problem.
More or less relying on the skills and the discretion of the Crew that's out there.
They still give them doubtable means, like time travel, to get the job done, but still seem to be intent to keep the death count as low as possible.

It's a bit more to it than simply using Starfleet. I really need to write the full story :D

I know.

It's way more complex.
Some might see a spider's web, others a maze.
Actually, it's both at the same time.

But what I said is how it might seem to innocent bystanders.

---------

That would be an interesting story, at least.
But that is an aunderstatement, I'd guess. ;)

Do like the idea of the asteroid and the shot with the Polaris heading into " orbit" of it is excellent. Looking forward to seeing, and reading more of the continued adventures of the Polaris

That must be quite advanced tech to terraform such a small body.

I guess you'd have to enhance the gravity in some way to keep the atmosphere in place...
