Description

I had this thing in building the Melkotian Buoy. I built it in about an hour, with an animated texture and a spinning motion. Not a design that went down in history, but you guys know I love this retrofuturistic stuff :D

One thing that the original Star Trek did very well (possibly due to costume and makeup effects budget limitations) was to remind us that other intelligent life-forms may not be humanoid and, indeed, may not even take on a form that we would automatically understand as 'life'.
