Description

The year 2380: The Borg Supercube leaves a trail of death and destruction behind its massive self, before being destroyed for good once and for all. In the final battle, a First Fleet Captain named Uriah Noah sacrifices his life and ship, allowing the defeat of Mankind's Bane, the Supercube.

The year 2381: The Borg Invasion sends the Federation, its allies and even its enemies to the brink of annihillation. Whilst some decide to face death with quiet dignity, others decide to go down with guns blazing. Commander Kirsten Heimann, the former first officer of Captain Noah's Polaris is given temporary command of a museum ship to be part of the final battle for Earth. The ship is the USS Polaris, NCC-782. Heimann, not being ready to accept a command of her own, decides to call for help - not from any friend or ally, but a dead legend. She travels back in time to meet Admiral David Metlesits, the famed Starship Captain of the past. Metlesits returns to the present with Heimann for one final battle. At the point of the Caeliar intervention, he decides to join the new Caeliar to teach them all he values. Commander Heimann is given permanent command of the USS Polaris - or, as she says, extended temporary command, until the ship's true Captain returns.

The year 2382: After spending months of refit in a replidock, the USS Polaris returns to active duty. Captain Heimann sets course for the Kzin-Tzenkethi region for a mission Metlesits has left her.

Space... the final frontier. These are the continuing voyages of the Starship Polaris. Her mission: to to explore strange new worlds. To seek out dangers and wonders. To boldly go and make a stand!

Okay, this has been a massive modelling effort :D

It took me about a month to build her, due to not having much time for modelling nowdays. The Refit Polaris was inspired by the Sovereign, Intrepid, Vesta and even the old Stargazer. She is a strike cruiser now, given that in the post-NEM era, even light cruisers are three times as big as her. She's fast and powerful, and manouvers like a mad son of a tribble. I think she is my most detailed model, with tiny greebles littering many surfaces.

this Polaris looks almost identical to the original! 😀
