My friends, we've come home by thefirstfleet My friends, we've come home by thefirstfleet
I threw together the background in about an hour. I know it's not perfect, but it's a simple 3D model of the spacedock interior...

A home named "Enterprise" is better than any other home! Including the White House! Enterprise has proved its name worthy and a warrior to the end!

Hello:
What an awesome representation of Star Trek 4's greatest scene!. I think the result is faithful to the mood of the moment.

 Keep it up!

My favorite scene in all the Trek movies!

"The Beaucratic mentality is a constant in the universe... we'll get a freighter..." and that tease with the Excelisor and then..... [cue the refrain] ...1701-A

They originally wanted the crew to get the Excelsior, but test audience found it dishonoring the concept of Star Trek. So the ending was modified, with the crew getting the A instead.

i think the Enterprise ncc-1701 a should have become the A not the B

So glad they didn't go down that route!

The reveal of the 'A' ended the Movie Trilogy off nicely- great ending.

This scene I had mixed feelings about, 1. I was very happy to see the enterprise resurrected. 2. I was disappointed to see how puny the Enterprise looks hiding behind the Excelsior.

I think that was the point. The TOS crew are golden oldies by then. They were given the ship out of respect and gratitude. I firmly believe the bulk of the Constitution class was already decommissioned by that time. They took one out from the mothballs, gave it some refit and re-named it the Enterprise-A. It was far from the standards of Scotty, hence saying that it was put together by monkeys. He put the ship back together again properly, of course. But by that time, Starfleet budget was allocated to the Excelsior and derived classes.

Ahhhh....this looks soooo great!!! :D You never cease to amaze me with the fine work you do! This scene always gives me great pleasure and joy to see. It is such a great reveal. I remember being like everyone else and speculating what would happen to Kirk and crew next after the events of ST III, and really wasn't sure what ship they'd wind up with, and then sitting in the theatre opening day of this during holiday season in Spokane, WA with a friend of mine, and then hearing the oh so fitting music and then seeing the reveal hear and then tears came to the corners of my eyes, and I nearly jumped out of my seat in joy as the Enterprise-A was revealed. Oh how good she looked, and that pristine white bridge which I really wish was kept in ST V, ahhh this was the perfect ship and Christmas Gift from Paramount. YEEEEHAHHHH!!!!  And you have captured this moment sooo very well! :D  Thank you very much for your work and creativity, and thank you so much for sharing it here!!!! You are truly grand!!!  :D

I do wish you a Happy Holidays, however you spend it.

With greatest respect and warmest regards to you! :D

Dave :)

I will admit though, I *love* her new bridge...

This felt like a beautiful actress reprising a beloved role. Same leading lady, only slightly different name!

And as much as I love Excelsior class ships, they hold no candle to a Connie.

My favorite bridge from all Trek is the Enterprise-A bridge. Especially its TUC incarnation with the flip switches. Pure badassdom!

Ahh... Enterprise A.

Your first reveal in Voyage Home was so much better before ST5 came out and we learned that you were in fact built by a swarm of chimpanzees who had been injected with liquified cocaine...
