Braving the storm, pt. 2Suliko clambered to her feet. She couldn't keep her eyes off of the remnants of the viewscreen, as if the image of the next Enterprise would appear there. Without turning toward the communications station, she reached out for a Feinberg receiver.
- Hail… hail them.

I noticed when watching StarTrekV that the Enterprise-A got hit by the Bird of Prey on her saucer section by the forward windows under the NCC (obviously that`s where the Transporter Room was located since that was what got damaged). Yet later on, When the Enterprise-A and Bird of Prey are leaving the Great Barrier, She has a burn mark UNDER the 01-A! and it looked like a phaser burn too NOT a torpedoe hit !
I was like HUH? The Enterprise-A WASN`T hit Twice so HOW can she have the burn mark on her upper saucer?
I normally DON`T critique Star Trek but that kind of bugged me.
Just like in Star Trek III, The Enterprise had WAY too much damage. In Star Trek II, Khan hit her 3 times on the PORT side. A torpdoe hit on the lower saucer section and 2 phaser hits on the engineering and torpedoe bay area. Yet in III, She had marks on BOTH sides in the Engieering section AND on the upper Port side saucer and Nacelle!
But I know the reason for THAT:
Back in 84, there was a fire at Paramount Studios and the Trek III set was one of the sets that was on fire. Obviously the Enterprise model was damaged by the fire and rather than make an all NEW model they left it with the extra burn marks since The Enterprise was going to be destroyed anyway!

It was a bit different: when they planned the visuals, they noted that the Enterprise will be showing her starboard side more - undamaged in TWOK. So they added damage there, simply to compensate visually.
