Heir Apparent

There was little doubt among officers that the next starship Enterprise would be a member of the Excelsior Class. The spaceframe that would become the NCC-1701-B was to be the first of a distinct subtype. Classified as a front-line command ship, the Enterprise-B features an enlargement of the stardrive section with increased armor. An additional pair of impulse engines and upgraded nacelles increased maneuverability and survivability.
