The old man squinted in the harsh sunlight that filled the large waiting hall of the top of the Admirality Building. Beyond the large windows – translucent walls, to be more precise – the life in Leningrad moved on as it did for hundreds of years. The old man walked to the window, metallic leg braces creaking slightly: he needed to oil them, though not that badly. An open window allowed a slight breeze to sweep his grey hair. He still had hair and was damn proud of it. His kind was usually less sensitive to hair loss, but he wasn't a young man any more – he was ancient as he saw himself.
He still wore his old styl
